For the third consecutive year, Rabba Fine Foods is presenting sponsor of Light Up The Square, the official kick-off celebration to the holiday season for residents of Mississauga and its many visitors.
“Less daylight doesn’t mean less light,” says Jack Rabba, founder of Rabba. “We never shut our lights to local consumers so we feel it’s a natural fit for us to participate in the brightest event on Mississauga’s cultural calendar.”
For over 10 years, the annual event features live music, a Holiday Street Market with more than 50 artisanal and food vendors, the opening of the ice rink, photos with Santa, activities for kids and the eagerly anticipated lighting of the city’s tallest natural Christmas tree. Rabba staff will be onsite to provide complementary hot chocolate and will be raising funds for The Mississauga Food Bank throughout the evening’s festivities. Additionally, Rabba Fine Foods will be placing donation jars in Mississauga store locations to collect donations in support of The Mississauga Food Bank.
“On behalf of the City of Mississauga and Members of Council, we invite everyone to join us for the much anticipated Light Up The Square event taking place at Celebration Square to kick off the Holiday and Christmas season here in Mississauga,” Mayor Bonnie Crombie said. “From the bustling Holiday Street Market, to outdoor skating and the lighting of Mississauga’s tallest natural Christmas tree – there are so many things for families to see, do and enjoy. Celebration Square is in the heart of our City for a reason. It’s where Mississauga comes together and comes alive – especially during the Holiday and Christmas season.”
Light Up The Square presented by Rabba takes place at Celebration Square, Saturday, November 25 at 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with the tree lighting scheduled for 6:45 p.m.
