Parts of the Middle East are in turmoil and instability. That’s a statement that is true today as it seems to have been for centuries. For the sake of innocent peoples of all backgrounds, ages and faith in the region, we who are outside of the Middle East should at least consider doing something – even just prayer.
We’re pleased to be supporters of the Father Boulad Dinner for Christians in the Middle East. Working with Father Henri Boulad, a renowned thinker, advocate, humanitarian and author, as well as the Archdiocese of Toronto and the Catholic Near East Welfare Association Canada (CNEWA), the event brings together 200+ people for an evening of education, inspiration and friendship – with proceeds going to the work of CARITAS Egypt and CNEWA.
The funds serve the dual purpose of helping to preserve the local Catholic Churches in their ancestral homelands of Egypt, Syria and Iraq, but also of helping them continue their services and programs that go out to all persons in their communities – well beyond any single religious community or tradition.
