Torchia clients extend a hand, and way more, to provide life-saving care and essential services during these challenging months
‘Doing well by doing good’ Torchia clients extend a hand, and way more, to provide life-saving care and essential services during these challenging months Adversity have a tendency to bring out the best in people – and the companies they lead and manage. Over the past few months, we’ve seen that in spades. “We could not be prouder of our client-partners,” says Jean-Claude Torchia, president and founder of Torchia Communications. “Even in the face of extreme difficulties, including closures or sharp revenue reductions, we’ve seen a display of open dialogue, transparency, resilience and humanity that we’ll not soon forget.” Like a carefully choreographed symphony or sports play, some companies focused on business continuity, ensuring they remained open for essential services like groceries, car servicing, ice cream and pharmacy, while others responded with additional contributions to their community partnerships in the form of donations and, still others, charities or faith-based groups, for example, provided mental and spiritual support for those who need it most. “The call of duty, just to remain open, has been extremely difficult but still many organizations have gone well beyond that in an amazing display of charity and responsible citizenry,” says Daniel Torchia, APR, managing director and partner. “When we step back, at least figuratively, to catch our breath and look at the wider picture, we see the extent to which heroism and humanity has been on display recently.” A collective kudos to all those who have worked so hard in getting through this — taking care of people and keeping communications flowing: Baskin-Robbins, Metro, Rabba Fine Foods, Toys”R”Us and Reliance for remaining open with essential services and a display of generosity to charitable groups like Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada, Children’s Aid Society and numerous food banks; HGregoire, Youth Science Canada, Hotel Mount Stephen, Medicart (incl. Epiderma) and Connaissance for making the hard decision of closing either their retail locations, facilities or large-scale events while maintaining a high level of dialogue, proactiveness and integrity throughout – not to mention digital and web-based services; (some, like Medicart’s Medical Director, was even deployed to the frontlines working at COVID-19 hospitals). MyAbilities and Navaya for continuing their quest for innovation – even in complex industries or situations; CNEWA, Pontifical Missions Societies, Archdiocese of Quebec, Fondation du Grand Seminaire de Montreal and Canadian Integrative Medicine Association, for staying true to their vocation of helping numerous communities through their charitable works, important research and/or outreach. “On behalf of our entire team, we thank the leaders at the helm of these organizations for their important and deeply inspiring work.” – Jean-Claude Torchia Over the past few months, client-partners like CNEWA and Pontifical Missions Societies launched emergency programs to help organizations and faith-based groups in countries around the world. Grocery clients and other front-line or essential services not only stayed open, but many were able to donate goods, funds and services to worthy charitable organizations.
